WARRINGTON, Great Britain, 20 August 2014 - Dunlop Motorsport purchased refrigerated semi-trailers with the Vector 1550 unit. They guarantee outstanding conditions for transport and storage of racing tyres. Carrier Transicold is a part of UTC Building & Industrial System, which belongs to United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Each year, Dunlop Motorsport manages more than 300 sports events worldwide. Two new semi-trailers supplied by M6 Motor Bodies from Birmingham provide continuous temperature control for the tyres.
“We have indicated a task for M6 Motor Bodies to design a special semi-trailer which will store our tyres in the best possible conditions”, says Tony Duffy, Transport Manager at Dunlop Motorsport. “Together with Carrier Transicold, M6 Motor Bodies manufactured semi-trailers to suit our needs. We will use them to benefit races worldwide.”
These are exceptional vehicles. When idle, their width can be extended. They are equipped with special racks for safe storage of the tyres.

The Vector 1550 unit enables temperature control with accuracy of up to +/- 0.8oC. It cools or heats the loading chamber accordingly to the temperature outside. It features a patented E-Drive™ system which allowed to significantly reduce the number of parts requiring maintenance. Compared to the devices with traditional drive featuring belts, maintenance has become simpler while offering higher availability.
Weighing 740 kg, the Vector 1550 is one of the lightest units on the market. When transporting tyres at the desired temperature, Dunlop Motorsport can facilitate the loading capacity of the semi-trailers in the optimum way.
The company offers a broad Europe-wide servicing network for Carrier Transicold, which constitutes an additional guarantee that the semi-trailers will always reach their destination on time.
Dunlop Motorsport is the official supplier of motorcycle tyres for world championships organised by the Federation of International Motorcycling (FIM) in Moto2 and Moto3 classes.
